Farm Animals Up Close (2008–present) – Klimas began this series when she realized that animals close to home, often used for consumption, deserve extra attention. The work focuses primarily on portraits of these animals, supplemented by compositions placing them in misty or empty backgrounds. The aim is to raise awareness that these are living beings with unique personalities, deserving of proper welfare. Klimas hopes the works foster greater empathy for these animals when viewers see them up close.
