In full strength and silence, he stands there: the bull. Imposing, powerful, dignified. Yet we rarely see him. In the Netherlands, bulls are often kept indoors from a young age, separated from the outside world. Not because there is no other option, but because their strength is seen as ‘troublesome’. With this work, I want to give him his place back, fully in the picture, fully in his essence. Not tucked away, but straight in our attention. The bull deserves visibility, not only as a breeding animal, but as a living being.
