Koe Truus I
Last year, Alexandra Klimas stole the hearts of PAN visitors with her Frisian cows. This year, she has devoted her attention to the red-and-white cow, which is becoming increasingly rare in the Netherlands. During her early years, the artist learned to treat cows as pets, a fact that is clearly evident in her paintings. Look at ‘Koe Truus I’ (Truus the Cow I), who looks at you as if she’s part of the family. However, Alexandra’s memories of bulls are less tender: she once had to dive into a pond to avoid being trampled by one! ‘Koe Truus I’ can be bought at the Lieve Hemel Gallery.
